The mission of the SLMMF is to bring together Muslims who are involved in the Print and Electronic Media and also those who are involved in the communication industry in educating, imparting knowledge and training of Media Personnel in the country.

Sri Lanka Muslim Media Forum held it 12th Annual Convention on 23rd June 2007 at Ranmuthu Hotel, Colombo 3. Hon. Jeyaraj Fernandopulle was the Chief Guest and Hon. Reshad Badiudeen, As-Seyyed Alavi Moulana, Hon. Myown Musthpha and Hon. Faizal Cassim also graced the occasion.
