South Asian environmental journalists encouraged to apply for fellowship

Journalists from Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka with an interest in environmental issues in their region can apply for a two-month fellowship, from January to March 2010. Deadline for application submission: December 25.
Participants will study, investigate and report on the pressures, conflicts, impacts, actions and inactions that are being played out on their coasts. The fellowship offers a unique opportunity to travel to look at issues including climate change, environmental degradation, legislation and regulation, and industrial development, and to write and comment on them.
Only published print, video, television, and photo journalists are eligible. The fellowship is being sponsored by the New Delhi-based Centre for Science and Environment (CSE).
All accepted applicants will receive an INR 50,000 (US$1,073) stipend in two installments. For more information, click here.
