The mission of the SLMMF is to bring together Muslims who are involved in the Print and Electronic Media and also those who are involved in the communication industry in educating, imparting knowledge and training of Media Personnel in the country.

Sri Lanka Muslim Media Forum regularly conducts Seminars, Workshops and Training programs to develop professional skills of members.Seminars and workshops for advance level students on Media is another regular feature of the Forum.
Muslim Media Forum has participated in numerous protests against the infringement of media freedom and rights of media men.
